Free Fitness Classes Offered During Active Aging Week

ActiveAgingWeekActive Aging Week is September 22-28, 2013! Sheltering Arms is joining more than 3,000 organizations across the country in offering events in support of this nationally-recognized week.

According to the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), we have added 30+ years to the human life expectancy over the last 100 years. The challenge, however, becomes ensuring quality of life during these years. As they age, adults typically become increasingly concerned about their health, mobility and ability to care for themselves.

The foundation for an active, independent and quality life is physical activity. Dr. Steven Blair, ICAA board member and CEO and Director of Research at The Cooper Institute for Aerobic Research in Dallas, put it best when he said, “There are few things you can do that have a more profound effect on more bodily systems than exercise.”

That’s why Sheltering Arms is holding new and exciting classes FREE of charge during Active Aging Week. These classes include:

Aqua Zumba
Arthritis Aqua Class
Intro to Yoga
Ageless Grace
Arthritis Tai Chi

There’s no better time than now to try something new and lay the groundwork for a healthy and satisfying life for years to come. Click on each class for information on date/time/location and to register.
